Chair without visible fastening elements. Own design, partially constructed.

I initially started by drawing a traditional chair inspired by Nanna Ditzel's numerous designs. Along the way, I thought it would be fun if I managed to create a chair that was completely free of visible fastening elements.

Inset round steel bars are intended to be welded to the chair's frame, after which the individual wooden slats are slid over them. Finally, the two dowels are inserted.

Unfortunately, the tolerances of the flat iron plus machining inaccuracies proved to vary too much, which was a limiting factor for further construction.

Drawn in Inventor, partially CNC-constructed in 21 mm birch plywood.
